About ProbeScope

In our work in networking and security, we needed to know immediately when something became unreachable - whether it was a host, a network link, or a service. What we had instead was a collection of terminal windows, each running ping against a different target, and the constant effort of trying not to miss the one that had just failed.

ProbeScope began as a small internal utility to solve that problem. We didn't want dashboards to configure, databases to maintain, or agents to deploy. We wanted a single executable that would tell us, instantly and reliably, when something stopped responding.

When we couldn't find a tool that matched those expectations, we built it ourselves. ProbeScope is a single, self-contained binary with no runtime dependencies. It behaves the same whether it's monitoring a single host from a developer's laptop or hundreds of systems from a hardened jump host. Reliability has always been the guiding principle-because a monitoring tool is only useful if you can trust it completely.

That philosophy continues to shape every release. ProbeScope is developed by a small team that values simplicity over complexity, reliability over feature creep, and clear, actionable information over elaborate dashboards.
